Eeps!! We LIVE along Jenny Creek, where it intersects with Upper Rapid Creek. And this rain today is on top of the already saturated ground and over-running creekbeds. I have no idea how much rain we've had already this year, but I'd sure like to find out.

LOTS of people are scared witless right now -- anyone who lived through the 1972 flood, for instance. Some people have actually moved to higher ground until we know where this is going. Our neighbors for three houses up the line have all left the area as of today. One couple was going to see their daughter's family anyway, but left early; the others simply rented rooms in Deadwood where the elevation is higher and isn't a problem for flooding. I should have gotten into their suitcase!
