It's time for a few other countries (who are holding back) to start doling out help to the Haitian people. I don't think the whole thing should be on the backs of the American's. WHY should it fall to only our country to help these folks?

This theft thing didn't used to be a problem - people in crisis weren't looking to make a profit - they were looking to survive and help their fellow men. But the criminal aspect seems an all-consuming thing nowadays and whose fault is that? Is it America's fault for trying to "help"? You can be sure that we'll be blamed at some point, rather than thanked, IMPO.

When we first started "helping" over there, I was afraid it would turn into the fiasco that we're now seeing with these people. They don't really want our help, per se, they want to help themselves (to profit). Mostly the men; the women want to do the right thing, or so one article I read has said. "Women are more likely to feed their families the food provided, rather than sell it, as the men will do". That's the word buzz on the 'net.
