We're baaack! Thanks for posting stuff, Jim. I haven't really had time to look at it yet, but I will.
We had a good time, beautiful weather, a really nice room right alongside a creek which made us feel right at home! It was nice enough outdoors that we were able to leave the window open overnight and it was great. It smells so good up there because they have a different type of pine tree than what we're used to down here. Jack Pines or something like that. Ours are mostly Ponderosa Pines.
I lost $10, won $50, lost $30, won $20......anyhow, I came home about $15 ahead.
I'll never make my fortune in Deadwood, to be sure.
I wouldn't have come out ahead at all except that right before we left this morning, I played four hands of black jack and won the last hand I played. I shoulda black jacked it the whole time we were there.
While we were gone, last night around 11:15 p.m. to be exact, our youngest son's best friend and his wife had their baby boy! Yee Haw! Baby is in NICU with a little water on his lungs right now, but should be good to go by the end of today. Otherwise, all went well, I guess. Baby was 10 days early, but I'm prepared (I don't know about Mom and Dad though!) because I had all of my crocheting done by August 1. Made a blanket for my grandson (born on Aug 13) and also one for the little guy born last night. It's been chilly here today and supposed to stay about mid-70's all week, so I may take the blanket when I run to the hospital for a quick look-see and visit later today. They might actually need it!
Anyhow, just because I'm back doesn't mean you should stop posting stuff, Jim. Some of the stuff you send to me in emails should actually be going on this forum. Good stuff! And thanks again.
